I Believe In Jesus

Jesus signJesusJesus man of joyI grew up singing the song, “Jesus Loves Me”. That simple little song declares a bold biblical truth. The Bible affirms that He loves me. Jesus is the One and Only Son of God. He came to earth and lived a human life for 33 years before surrendering to death on a cross. Our sins were forgiven when a sacrifice was made, and He was the Ultimate Sacrifice for all sin. He made it possible for us humans to reconnect in a personal way with our Creator. I believe it takes more faith to ignore His existence than to believe in Him and His mission.

Jesus loves me this I know

For the Bible tells me so

Little ones to Him belong

They are weak, but He is strong

Yes – Jesus loves me (3X)

The Bible tells me so.

The real questions that changed my future many years ago is – Do I believe in Jesus? I am growing in my faith every day that I walk with Him. I see Him in the eyes of my family. I see Him in the sunrise or sunset. I see His handiwork all over the place. I look back on struggles in my life and I see His fingerprints all over my journey.

John walked with Jesus and was very close to Him while Jesus was on this earth. From the biblical record, I learned that John knew Jesus very well for at least 3 years. I really enjoy John’s perspective of Jesus in His gospel. I also love his perspective in the 4 books He penned later. He challenged me this morning to reflect on my love for God. Check this out….

10 All who believe in the Son of God know in their hearts that this testimony is true. Those who don’t believe this are actually calling God a liar because they don’t believe what God has testified about his Son.

12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.

21 Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts. (1 John 5:10,12,21 NLT)

There is stiff competition for my attention. The enemy cranks up the noise of this world I live in. I must find the quiet voice of the Lord or He will get crowded out. I must not only control my food diet, I must manage what my eyes see, my ears hear, and my feet go. The activities of my life should reflect what my heart believes about Jesus. I can say that I love Him, but talk is easy and cheap. I must keep a close check on my heart to not let anything or anyone take His place as King of my heart.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
