Hope & Help

hope ave and change wayThese two words often go hand in hand. Not only do they both begin with the same letter, they both imply that others are available or arriving on the scene. I need help are the time because there are things I simply can’t do on my own. Having help almost always improves my circumstances and situation. Hope sort of promises help. Check this out…

5 Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,

whose hope is in the Lord their God.
6 He is the Maker of heaven and earth,

the sea, and everything in them—

    he remains faithful forever.
7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed

and gives food to the hungry.

The Lord sets prisoners free,
8     the Lord gives sight to the blind,

the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,

the Lord loves the righteous. (Psalm 146:5-8 NIV)

The Lord covers both areas. He is my Help & my Hope.

I just watched the movie Noah that was released in early 2014. It was highly criticized by many because it really didn’t attempt to connect to the biblical narrative. There were several liberties taken with how the Lord worked in Noah’s life and the life of his family.  One of my takeaways was the Presence of God. If I will seek His face and pursue Him, His Presence is very real. He lifts my head when I’m down. He provides for me. If someone doesn’t know the Lord and how He helps people like me, then they may not have the same hope that I have.

Pressing On!
