Honorable Life
I’ve met so many good people over the years. Now that I’m older and they are ancient, I realize what an impact an honorable life can have on others. These honorable people lived simple but consistent lives before God. Some of them wrote books. Some of them pastored churches. Some of them simply served others behind the scenes. Some of them came to my memory as I read this simple passage this morning. Check this out….
15 It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you. (1 Peter 1:15 NLT)
I aspire to live an honorable life before the Lord today and every day of the rest of my life here on earth. I want others to notice Jesus in me, not me.
I believe an honorable life speaks louder than any words I might speak. I see an honorable life as a consistent faith journey as I live and work in my family and community. I don’t think an honorable life is based on one incident; it’s the combination of their character, their actions, and a simple life lived to honor God.
