His Character
There have been times that my decisions reveal flaws in my character. I make choices that reveal the way I think. I can say one thing, but the choices I make really reveal who I am. I once heard someone say that hard times can build character and also reveal character. The Lord’s character is never in question with me. He is always faithful even when I’m not faithful to Him. Check this out…
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you. 15 Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord. 16 They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness. 17 For you are their glory and strength, and by your favor you exalt our horn. 18 Indeed, our shield belongs to the Lord, our king to the Holy One of Israel. (Psalm 89:14-18 NIV)
When I take a closer look at the Lord’s character, I realize why I pursue Him. He is flawless and perfect. He is strong and faithful and without anyone to compare Him too. He stands alone and is in a league all His own. I can’t begin to really describe Him. As I dig into His Word, I find out more about Him and of Him.
He is Faithful.
He is so Patient.
He is so Kind.
He is Present.
He is Powerful.
He is Perfect.
He is Consistent.
He is Gentle.
He is Love.
These are simply concepts of His Character. He is beyond description and definition.
