Heart Sick

I certainly know what it’s like to be physically sick and I know what it’s like to be heart sick. When I’m physically sick, there are medicines to treat the symptoms and help my body fight the sickness off and get well. When I’m heart sick, a different approach is needed for sure.

Heart sick can be caused by my behavior or someone else’s behavior toward me.  Healing of the heart is a bit trickier than simply taking a medicine.

King David walked through heart sickness and often prayed about it. Check this out….

    How long, O Lord, until you restore me?

⁴ Return, O Lord, and rescue me.
    Save me because of your unfailing love. (Psalm 6:3-4 NLT)

I am reminded that the Lord can heal me from physical sickness as well as heart sickness. I can look healthy physically, but my heart can be crushed.  He hears my heart. He understands my tears.

Heart sickness needs counsel.

Heart sickness needs Presence.

Heart sickness needs time.

Physical sickness needs medicine.

Physical sickness needs a plan of action.

Physical sickness needs time.

The Lord has restored my soul multiple times from heart sickness. He walks with me through hurt and pain. He teaches me through heart sickness. His Presence is a powerful in the midst of heart sickness.  He is the Healer. He is my Shepherd. He is my Counselor. He will guide me through sickness, whether physically sick or heart sick.
