Heart Condition
Everyone I know has a heart condition. Some have a weak heart condition and some have a strong heart condition. Whenever I hear those two words together it is usually a heart condition that is bad and needs treatment of some sort.
I have a physical heart that is getting older and has been pumping consistently for over 52 years – what a machine! My doctor has been encouraging exercise and proper eating habits for several years now. I’m just now realizing that I had better listen to him if I want my last years on earth to go better than others. I’ve had dear friends die suddenly of a heart attack when the heart muscle malfunctions and sometimes stops instantly. The heart is a complicated physical organ in my body that is vital to keeping me alive.
I have a spiritual heart that is the center of my spiritual journey. My heart is the emotional center of my being. When I was a kid in 3rd grade, I gave my heart to the Lord. I wanted Him to live in my heart and direct my life so that I may honor Him. The Lord is the Keeper of my heart and He can help me direct and protect my head. The Hebrew writer was all over this. My brothers and sisters who are Christ followers are helpful to me when it comes to protecting my heart. My heart is revealed in my actions and activity of life. I need the encouragement and accountability of fellow Christ followers to help me walk in His Way! This fellowship of believers can help keep my heart shapable and moldable by The Creator so that my heart functions as it was created and designed to function! I’m thankful for my wife, my children, Christian friends, my Pastors, Teachers and Life Group who help me guard my heart and walk out my faith!
