Healed

I have been healed many times. I recently went to the doctor with my neck “locked up”. I couldn’t turn my head to the right or the left. After receiving a couple of shots on both sides of my neck, I was referred to a Chiropractor – who with therapy and adjustment made great strides in healing my neck issue. My doctors and nurses have been a huge part of healing for many years. I can only imagine what it would have been like to walk with Jesus and have Him simply speak over me or touch me and healing take place.  I think it would be especially helpful as I age, and many things hurt simply from getting old!

Healing was a normal part of Jesus ministry once He got started. He kept things on the “down low” until it was the right time. I love how He ministered to the families of His disciples too. Check this out….

¹⁴ When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, Peter’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever. ¹⁵ But when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her. Then she got up and prepared a meal for him.

¹⁶ That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick. ¹⁷ This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said,

“He took our sicknesses
    and removed our diseases.” (Matthew 8:14-17 NLT)

I’m so thankful for the health that I have physically, mentally, and spiritually. I am even more thankful for His Presence with me when I need healing. I know people whose healing is complete when they die physically to live eternally.

I know that Jesus has healed my heart too many times to count. He’s healed my heart from deep hurt. He’s healed my heart from disgusting sin. He’s healed my heart from foolish pride, arrogance, and selfishness.  I need Him at every level of my life to keep touching and healing me. I’m praying for healing of my heart again this morning as I surrender to Him.
