He Sees Everything
I used to think my parents could see everything. I realized later that they just knew me, and they could see signs in my behavior that gave them insight to something I was doing or not doing. I figured it out when I became a parent too. Parents just know things and see things.
I was reading a familiar chapter in Jesus’ great sermon on the mount this morning and came across a simple phrase that reminded me of God’s Presence. Check this out…
3 But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. 4 Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
17 But when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face. 18 Then no one will notice that you are fasting, except your Father, who knows what you do in private. And your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.(Matthew 6:3-4, 6, 17-18 NLT)
He sees my joys.
He sees my hurts.
He sees my suffering.
He sees my pain.
He sees my broken heart.
He sees my wins.
He sees my losses.
He always sees me. He always listens to me. He never leaves me. Knowing that He sees me gives me comfort and motivates me to honor Him. I want to serve Him because He sees me, not because others see me.
Pressing On!
