Growing Up

Today my son, Matthew learned to cut grass!  I think I learned first by pushing the lawn mower, but he learned first by riding the mower.  I guess it’s not a big deal since he already rides the four-wheeler everywhere in our back woods and pasture at Papaws.  Anyway, I gave the instructions about how to put the blade in gear, then put the mower in gear and focus on the front tire to make sure you’re getting good coverage with the mowing deck. It was a bit funny watching him trying so hard to do something that is now I do without thinking much about.   Matthew just turned 12 – he’s grown so much physically, emotionally and spiritually. I’m kinda glad he’s old enough to help, but I’m a bit sad that he’s growing up so fast!
