Give Credit
I was taught as a youngster to give credit where it’s due. If someone does something nice, notice them. If someone accomplishes something great behind the scenes, compliment them. In English class we were taught about plagiarism – where someone takes credit for writing something that was previously written by someone else.
Asaph pens several Psalms giving the Lord the credit due Him for all He has done and is doing. He gives “props” to God for holding the world in His hand. Asaph keeps returning to praise of God for Who He is. Check this out….
7 It is God alone who judges;
he decides who will rise and who will fall.
8 For the Lord holds a cup in his hand
that is full of foaming wine mixed with spices.
He pours out the wine in judgment,
and all the wicked must drink it,
draining it to the dregs.
9 But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done;
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 For God says, “I will break the strength of the wicked,
but I will increase the power of the godly.”(Psalm 75:7-10 NLT)
I’m learning the value of giving the Lord credit for all that He is doing in my life. He is ALWAYS present. He is ALWAYS patient. He is ALWAYS giving me grace. He is ALWAYS forgiving me. He writes stuff on my heart that changes EVERYTHING in my life. He gives me perspective. He gives me peace. If I am successful or prosperous at anything, it’s because of The Lord’s Presence in me. He alone is the reason I am someone. He alone is the reason for my success. I’m in agreement with Asaph, I want to sing to the Lord with gratitude in my soul.
God You’re So Goodby Passion
God You’re So Good To Me
I am blessed, I am called
I am healed, I am whole
I am saved in Jesus’ name
Highly favored, anointed
Filled with Your power
For the glory of Jesus’ name
When I reflect on all that He has done and is doing – I can’t stop praising Him. I am humbled that He uses me to reflect His Presence.
Pressing On!
