Get Moving

I’m really thankful to be busy in my work. I am an independent contractor, self-employed, small business owner who works based only on commission income from the sales and marketing of real estate. I said that to say, I have to work weird hours and there is flexibility in my schedule, but I do keep moving to serve as many people in real estate as I can. I’m so grateful for my clients and customers who trust me to help them and their friends who need the service I provide.

I’m learning that The Lord is the real Mover in my business. He is out in front of me setting up appointments and setting up meeting people whom I can serve. He provides the stamina and energy for me too.

Moses is nearing the end of his life and the people of Israel are camped near the Jordan river about to start conquering the land promised them by God. They had wandered in the wilderness for nearly 38 +/- and these final two years, the Lord was preparing them for what was ahead. Moses would not be going with them, but he was the trusted leader for decades and he was stating and overstating what their responsibility was. He also got a bit historical to remind them of where they had been and why. He spends some time with some addresses to the leadership and the people. Check this out….

24 Moses continued, “Then the Lord said, ‘Now get moving! Cross the Arnon Gorge. Look, I will hand over to you Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and I will give you his land. Attack him and begin to occupy the land. 25 Beginning today I will make people throughout the earth terrified because of you. When they hear reports about you, they will tremble with dread and fear.’” (Deuteronomy 2:24-25 NLT)

I know what it’s like to get stuck.

I know what it’s like to get mentally paralyzed.

I also know what it’s like to get unstuck. The process of moving is not always easy, but I believe it’s always necessary. I believe that the Lord is the Reason I can keep moving. He motivates me. He inspires me. He restores my soul when I’m wounded. He leads me. He nurtures my heart. He steadies my steps. He is faithful to me even when I’m unfaithful to Him.

I want the Lord clearing the path that I’m moving upon. I want to go where He leads me. I want to turn left or right as He directs. I don’t want to be lazy and sluggish. I want to lean into His call and trust Him for the strength to move each day.  I want people who hear about me to know that the Lord is the Leader of my life. I want them to know that I move to His drumbeat and not my own. That is the way I want to live and serve for the rest of my life – following Him.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
