Generous
I believe that this is a state of mind or a position of my heart rather than an amount of money given away. Generosity is often connected with money more than any other thing. Money always seems to be the right color and size when it comes to birthday gifts for a family member. When I’m giving to others, it’s not always about money. Time is the most precious commodity of our day – I can be generous with time and it can be a huge blessing to another person. Check this out…
25 A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. (Proverbs 11:25 NIV)
I love it when someone is generous with me. They give me more than I was expecting. When I grasp just how cool that is – it makes me want to be generous with others. I’ve learned that when I give with the Spirit of God in my heart, it becomes a huge blessing to me. I can’t out give the Giver. The Lord is the Supreme Example of generosity. He loved me before I was really loveable. He gave before I knew I needed anything. He gave me His most precious gift – His Son. I want to be a giver like God. I heard it said, that “we are never more like God than when we give”.
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NIV) Pressing On! Dwayne
