Gateway of Hope

I know what it’s like to lose hope. I know what it’s like to sin and feel separated from God. I have been in trouble. I have been in despair. I have been hurt and sometimes, I was the cause of my own pain. But God in His mercy and His grace restored my soul.

Hosea is a hard book to read for sure. The Lord uses Hosea and his marriage to a prostitute to describe His relationship with Israel. As I read this, I can feel the pain that God feels. I can also feel the valley of trouble that Hosea’s wife is in. I do see myself in this story and I’m not always on the side of God. The Lord is so kind and good. He is so patient with me, just like He was and is with His people. Check this out….

14 “But then I will win her back once again.
I will lead her into the desert
and speak tenderly to her there.
15 I will return her vineyards to her
and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope. (Hosea 2:14-15 NLT)

I know the lay of the land in the “Valley of Trouble” and I’m profoundly grateful for the gateway of hope.

The gateway of hope is the way out of the valley.

The gateway of hope is the hope for those who’ve been to the valley.

The gateway of hope is restoration for my soul.

The gateway of hope is God’s kindness to me and His faithfulness to me.

God is so full of kindness, grace, and mercy. I have eternal life as my future, but I don’t deserve it. Jesus, the One and only Son of God is my Gateway of Hope!

Pressing On!
