Game Changers

This term is defined by someone who shows up and brings intrinsic value to everyone around them. For example Bloomberg.com did a series called “Game Changers” where they interviewed some people who rose to the top of their game and changed not only their world but everyone’s world. Some of the “game changers” were Steve Jobs (Apple), Sergey Brin & Larry Page (Google), Mark Zuckerburg (Facebook). These are just a small sampling of people who have changed the way we do so many things. They were just regular people who saw something totally different and started pursuing ideas that radically changed things for others.

When Jesus came into the world, He was the Ultimate Game Changer. None of the previous game changers mentioned affect my eternal destination but Jesus does. Check this out….

2 The people walking in darkness

    have seen a great light;

on those living in the land of deep darkness

    a light has dawned.

6 For to us a child is born,

    to us a son is given,

    and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called

    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7 Of the greatness of his government and peace

    there will be no end.

He will reign on David’s throne

    and over his kingdom,

establishing and upholding it

    with justice and righteousness

    from that time on and for ever.

The zeal of the Lord Almighty

    will accomplish this. (Isaiah 8:2;6-7 NIV)

 

When I accepted Jesus into my heart, my entire perspective is changed. It is no long I who live, but He lives in me and through me. This changes everything. It changes how I live, love & work. It’s like all of my existence is viewed through Christ in me. There is part of me that is resistant to the changes He longs to make in me, but I want His Will and His Way at the end of the day.

I can’t imagine my life without Him in it.

I can’t imagine a single day without Him.

My hope and my trust is Him. He has helped me through the most difficult days of my life and He’s also there to help me celebrate properly the victories of my life too. My entire view of the world is shaped by the Presence of God in me – that is the biggest game changer ever!
