Foundation

When a house or building is built, there is great attention paid to the foundation because that is the anchor of the building. The foundation is the part that fastens the building to the earth. It is the solid base of the building. If the foundation is faulty, then the whole house is faulty. I was in downtown New York sometime ago and saw the beginning of a “sky scraper” being built. The construction team was building the foundation according to engineered plans and careful specifications. The prophet Isaiah reminds me of my foundation. Check this out…

I remember clearly digging the footers for the house I live in. I remember also the pouring of the foundation/basement walls. There was steel and concrete for great strength. The foundation of any building is critical to the rest of the structure and certainly the longevity of the structure.

I want to build my life upon the cornerstone of the Son of God. He came to earth to make a way for me. He laid a foundation that I can build my life upon. His foundation is based on truth. The Creator/Engineer for the existence of all life bases his foundation on specific design. I would be wise to make His Cornerstone my cornerstone. I trust in Him. I will build all of my life upon Him.
