Foolish
I’m guilty as charged as being foolish at times. When I looked up the word “foolish” on dictionary.com, I chuckled at the definition and the synonyms. The main definition is: 1. Resulting from or showing a lack of sense; ill-considered; unwise. 2. Lacking forethought or caution. A few of the synonyms that made me chuckle are: senseless, vacant, vapid, simple, witless. Foolish, fatuous, silly, inane, stupid, asinine imply weakness of intellect and lack of judgment. Foolish implies lack of common sense or good judgment or, sometimes, weakness of mind. I hate to say but I’ve fit that description. I have had lots of experience at being foolish.
The wisest thing I have ever done, but investigate the Lord. I decided to take a closer look at Who He is and Who He claimed to be. King David concurs that only a foolish person denies God. Check this out….
1The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good. 2 God looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. 3 Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. (Psalm 53:1-3 NIV)
The situation looks very bleak without God’s Presence. With His Presence, I can walk through any storm. With His Presence, I’m wise beyond words. With His Presence I’m steady and strong. With His Presence I can help others. With His Presence I can see His face and get to know His heart.
I want to wise in by His definition. I want to walk with Him today. I want to listen to Him today. With His Presence, I’m the opposite of foolish. I am Who I am because of Him!
