Fear Battles Faith
There are times when I watch the news about threats to our freedom and way of life and I must admit that it scares me a bit. What if the US get’s sideways with China or another world power. What if sleeper cells awake a start relentless attacks inside our borders. I don’t want to sound negative, but there are times when fear really does a number on me.
When I read the Word though, I’m reminded that all the events that happen in this life are under the oversight of the Lord. As I was reading this bizarre dream of Daniel it appears that all hope seems lost, but the Lord is still very capable of raising up nations and taking down nations. Check this out…
23 ‘In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, a fierce-looking king, a master of intrigue, will arise. 24 He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy those who are mighty, the holy people. 25 He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power. (Daniel 8:23-25 NIV)
Human power is only so strong. Divine Power trumps the total human effort. I’m still growing as I learn to trust the Lord and His Authority and His Power. I’m going to let my faith push away my fear of anything that could come my way. I do want our nation to be a nation who recognizes the sovereignty of God.
Pressing On!
