Favorably
I know what it’s like to be treated favorably and I know what it’s like to be treated unfavorably. I like being treated favorably for sure. There have been people along the way of life who have treated me favorably because of a position or title that I’ve had. I remember being treated unfavorably when I was a student pastor – evidently because the other person didn’t like pastors. I also remember when I first became a REALTOR (19 years ago) and I didn’t get treated favorably. I think this scenario plays out even today – that people don’t treat others favorably not because of something that was done to them by the specific person, but because of a “bent” against people of certain professions or positions of leadership.
Moses & Aaron had been to Pharoah announcing nine other plagues and asking for permission to leave Egypt to go worship in the wilderness. Pharaoh was not having it. He saw through the request as he would lose all his slave labor. The final plague was about to hit, and it was going to be devastating upon Egypt. There is a bit of twist to this story. Check this out….
1Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will strike Pharaoh and the land of Egypt with one more blow. After that, Pharaoh will let you leave this country. In fact, he will be so eager to get rid of you that he will force you all to leave. 2 Tell all the Israelite men and women to ask their Egyptian neighbors for articles of silver and gold.” 3 (Now the Lord had caused the Egyptians to look favorably on the people of Israel. And Moses was considered a very great man in the land of Egypt, respected by Pharaoh’s officials and the Egyptian people alike.) (Exodus 11:1-3 NLT)
I pray every day for the Lord’s favor to continue upon me, my family, and my business. I would rather have the Lord’s favor than to be wealthy beyond measure. His favor upon me reminds me that all I have belongs to Him. I want the Lord to present me favorably to others. I want Him to lead me in how I serve, love and lead others.
I don’t just want His favor upon me here and now. I’m praying for His favor for my children and my children’s children and multiple generations to come. This is HUGE!
The Lord’s favor has eternal implications that can’t possibly be measured. Today is one day in my legacy of praying for the Lord’s favor. I want to continue praying for His favor every day for the rest of my life. I want others to see me favorably because of God’s Presence in me. I don’t ever want to check my faith at the door, I want my faith to be obvious in how I serve and work in my everyday business life.
Pressing On!
