Faithful
I had the opportunity growing up to see so many examples of people being faithful. My parents and grandparents were faithful to their wives and families. They were faithful to God and walked in obedience. I also watched God’s faithfulness and favor to them. There is a direct connection between my obedience and surrender to God’s faithfulness and favor upon me.
Paul is finishing up his first letter to the church at Thessalonica. He nails down several themes and then finishes really strong with encouragement and challenge. Check this out…
23 Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. 24 God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful. (1 Thessalonians 5:23 – 24 NLT)
He restates God’s faithfulness.
He restates God’s role in making me holy and blameless.
He reminds me of God’s Power and God’s Presence in my life.
I want to be an example of faithfulness, obedience, and surrender. God’s Presence is in me and all around me when I surrender to Him and His Will for me.
I will confess that I’m not always faithful to Him, but He is ALWAYS faithful to me. I can’t resist a love like that. I am drawn to Him because of His faithfulness to me. I’m profoundly grateful for His faithfulness to me and His Presence in me.
Pressing On!
