Equity

Equity - Dictionary SeriesI remember years ago learning what the term equity meant in terms of my house. If the value was more than what it was worth in the market, then I had equity. A lot of people borrow against this equity to make home improvements among other things. Another definition for this term is “the quality of being fair and impartial”. I came across this word in Psalm 99 and it jumped out. The Lord is both fair and impartial and He adds extra value to my life. Check this out….

1 The Lord reigns,

    let the nations tremble;

he sits enthroned between the cherubim,

    let the earth shake.
2 Great is the Lord in Zion;

    he is exalted over all the nations.
3 Let them praise your great and awesome name—

    he is holy.
4 The King is mighty, he loves justice—

    you have established equity
;
in Jacob you have done

    what is just and right.
5 Exalt the Lord our God

    and worship at his footstool;

    he is holy. (Psalm 99:1-5 NIV)

There are lots of attributes and characteristics that I don’t know about The Lord, however, there are several that I know of first hand. I know of His fairness and His faithfulness. He never gives up on me, when I wander off and do things on my own and embarrass Him and His name. He is so patient and tender to forgive and love me back to His Way and His Will for me.

I love the thought that as I walk with Him daily, He is building up spiritual equity for me to lean into and draw upon as I walk through difficult days and challenging times. He keeps replenishing the spiritual equity balance in my heart. I’m so grateful that He never leaves me or forsakes me even when I leave Him or forsake Him. He is relentless in His pursuit of my heart and that blesses my heart this morning.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
