Endurance & Obedience
These two words don’t often go together. I’m thinking that they actually compliment one another for followers of the Lord. These two words actually describe Jesus pretty well. He was faithfully obedient and He endured a lot on His way to the cross. I found some cool verses tucked away in the most symbolic of books. Check this out…
12 This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus. 13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” (Revelation 14:12-13 NIV)My heart was stirred with the term patient endurance. That screams out to me that staying power comes from deep within. I should stick to my faith and don’t give an inch. I want to remain faithful and endure to the end.
The line also moved me, “their deeds will follow them”. I get a little nervous thinking about some of my deeds. After I get a little stressed out over them, I remember His Grace found me. My bad activity of my past has been erased and I’m now cleaned up because of His Mercy & Grace. Because He saved me, I want my deeds going forward to honor Him and bless Him not hurt Him. I want to patiently endure and remain obedient the rest of my days here on earth.
Pressing On! Dwayne
