Encouraged By God

I love encouragers. In fact, I try to be an encourager of others. It takes thought and it often takes a bit of a shift in mindset to become an encourager. I can look for good in everyone. My Mom used to remind me that everyone is a child of God and there is good in them somewhere.

I came across a short verse in Paul’s storied journey that spoke of encouragement from God. Paul is in custody and his life is being threatened because of his preaching and teaching about Jesus. He was taken into protective custody. Check this out…

¹¹ That night the Lord appeared to Paul and said, “Be encouraged, Paul. Just as you have been a witness to me here in Jerusalem, you must preach the Good News in Rome as well.” (Acts 23:11 NLT)

When I’m encouraged by God, I’m profoundly inspired. I want to live like He wants me to live. I want to speak what He would have me say.  I do love getting encouragement from others, but when the Lord encourages me by speaking into my heart, I’m blown away.

The Lord encourages me through His Word.

The Lord encourages me through His Presence in me.

The Lord encourages me through my family.

The Lord encourages me through my church.

The Lord encourages me through fellow believers.

The Lord encourages me through children.

The Lord encourages me through His creation.

I can’t begin to count all the ways the Lord encourages me. I do know that I want to be an encourager on His behalf.
