Deep Spiritual Growth

i want to know moreI love it when Spring time arrives after the dormancy of winter. The root systems that were asleep come back to life. When the daffodils bloom in February (here in GA), it’s a sign that spring is close by. I definitely don’t want to have a dormant faith, but sometimes it cools down a bit. I desire to know the Lord fully and for Him to expose every area of my heart that needs His Presence. I want to keep growing deeply rooted in His love for me.

Paul explains to the Ephesus church just how the Good News came to the non-Jewish people. (I fit in that category too.) He explained that when we belong to the Lord, it doesn’t matter what your ethnicity or heritage of faith. The real Change Maker is Jesus. When we surrender to the Lordship of Jesus, we share equally in the riches that come from God. After explaining this mystery to the church, Paul speaks of a prayer that he has prayed on their behalf. This prayer deeply blessed my heart. Check this out….

14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. (Ephesians 3:14-19 NLT)

I want to be empowered with inner strength from His Spirit.

I want the Lord to make His home in my heart.

I want my roots to grow down deep in God’s love to keep me strong.

I want the power of understanding to grasp the depth, the breath & expanse of God’s Love.

I want to be complete with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

As I was reading this prayer, I simply said “Dang”! That was a strong and deep prayer for the spiritual growth of the church at Ephesus.  I am praying that prayer for me. I’m praying that prayer for my family. I’m praying that prayer for my church family & my co-workers. The power of this deep prayer can alter my decisions and shape my spiritual journey in a powerful and positive way. I want to keep growing spiritually deep in Him.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
