Courage To Stand
There are times it’s easier to hide than to be in a great crowd of people. I have become quite a “home-body”. I like the quietness and the solitude of home. I like to go see a good show or concert still, but I also like being home. It’s hard when the Lord is calling me to go somewhere or do something that I don’t really want to do. He always supplies the courage with His Word and His Presence.
Jeremiah was arrested and whipped because of the message he was speaking from the Lord. Upon his release, Jeremiah filed a complaint with the Lord. As he was complaining, he found himself speaking truth about the Lord. Check this out…..
11 But the Lord stands beside me like a great warrior.
Before him my persecutors will stumble.
They cannot defeat me.
They will fail and be thoroughly humiliated.
Their dishonor will never be forgotten.
12 O Lord of Heaven’s Armies,
you test those who are righteous,
and you examine the deepest thoughts and secrets.
Let me see your vengeance against them,
for I have committed my cause to you.
13 Sing to the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
For though I was poor and needy,
he rescued me from my oppressors. (Jeremiah 20:11-13 NLT)
I can stand with the Presence of God all over me.
I can stand when I feel like sitting down because He provides the strength.
I can be courageous when I feel fear because of His Presence in me. It’s easy to notice all that is around me because it often distracts me more than noticing the Power that the Lord’s Presence within me brings.
When I’m afraid, I will sing songs of Presence and Courage.
When I’m struggling with temptation, I will sing songs of His Love, Presence and Courage.
I want the deepest thoughts and secrets to be pure before the Lord. I want to be ready for Him to audit my heart at any time or any place He chooses.
He gives me the courage to stand with Him through every circumstance that I face. I am so thankful that His Presence comes with a Promise that He will never leave me. I am also thankful that His Promises ALWAYS come with His Presence. This gives me courage to stand.
Pressing On!
