Consequences

I definitely know what consequences are. A consequence is the result or effect of an action that was taken. I’ve done things where the consequence was long term and hard. I’ve made what seemed like a small mistake with a large consequence.  I’ve been forgiven of sin, but still had to face the consequences of my sin.

Every decision or choice I make has consequences – whether good or bad. I need to choose carefully.

I have followed the Lord since I was very young. I’m certainly not perfect – in fact I’m fully aware of some of my sin. The Lord has forgiven much for sure. I am still working out my salvation NOT working for it.

The people of Jerusalem and Samaria have a dark past and the Lord has had enough. The consequences of their sinful behavior will lead to their destruction. Check this out….

³⁵ “And because you have forgotten me and turned your back on me, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: You must bear the consequences of all your lewdness and prostitution.” (Ezekiel 23:35 NLT)

I’m so grateful for the Amazing Grace of God. I deserve punishment for my sin, but instead I receive forgiveness.  If my sin has consequences that are far reaching, He will walk with me through that as well.  I know people who have made committed sin and a child was born months later. While their sin is forgiven, they must navigate the consequence of their sin.

I want to walk out my faith in God seeking His help to navigate each decision and choice I make because some choices have consequences that are hard. There are other consequences that are filled with great joy and celebration.  I want to simply lean into my faith and trust the Lord at all times and seek His counsel.
