Confirmation

This is an image of a man being spiritual encouraged, symbolised by the "thumbs up".I have made reservations via the phone or Internet and received confirmation numbers or emails and there is a sense of completeness about the task. I have accomplished what I set out to do because I have a receipt of confirmation. I then can move on to something else. Confirmation is a state of assurance that a fact is true.  Confirmation in a spiritual sense is a bit more subjective.

Paul and Barnabas were on this missionary journey to different cities to teach about Jesus Christ. This was different than any other faith because it negated Judaism and Jesus, the Messiah was the ONLY way to salvation. Check this out…

1 At Iconium Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue. There they spoke so effectively that a great number of Jews and Greeks believed. 2 But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the other Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. 3 So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to perform signs and wonders. (Acts 14:1-3 NIV)

The Lord offers confirmation pretty regularly. I’ve made decisions based on something deep inside (I believe it’s the Holy Spirit) and then later received confirmation via another event or simple reading something in scripture that affirms/confirms the decision.  I do believe that God offers affirmation and confirmation as I journey through this life. I must develop “spirit listening skills” to hear His Spirit prompt my movements. I must have the courage to trust His Prompting and act accordingly.  I don’t necessarily think that when I miss something He’s prompting me to do, a lightening bolt will flash out of the sky and jolt me, but I do believe the Lord can really make the path really really clear. He has any resource or event at His disposal to move and shape my journey with Him. He has confirmed that truth over and over again to me.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
