Confidence

When you ask me a question about something I’m very familiar with, I answer with confidence. My knowledge and experience often give me the confidence to speak into that question. There are times when I’m not as confident and I should be open and honest about what I do know and what I don’t know.

There is a thin line between confidence and arrogance. I see confidence as knowledge and information mixed with humility. Arrogance is having an exaggerated sense of one’s abilities, importance, or knowledge.

Paul challenges the church at Rome, and I think the church today that we should be humble but confident in what we know about the Lord. Check this out….

13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NLT)

My Source of hope is God.

He gives me joy and peace because He’s my Source of hope!

My confidence is based on Him and His Presence in me by His Spirit.

If I come off as arrogant, I’m hindering the message of hope. I’m acting as if I have something exclusive if I make this about me and what I know.

My confidence comes from my journey with Him in His Word. His promises are real, and His promises are true. I am nothing without Him. I have no hope without Him. His Presence in me has radically changed my perspective about everything!

Pressing On!
