Complain & Whine

What can I do? picture about regretSometimes it just feels good to whine and complain. There are actually instances when a formal complaint is filed and some things are reconciled that may have not been addressed otherwise. I’m not a fan of whining. I almost think whining should be outlawed. Whining is defined as a “complaining tone of voice”. I’m sure there is ever a time when whining is ok. Jeremiah seems to be whining and complaining to the Lord because of his position as a prophet. He get’s picked on and persecuted because of the message the Lord is bringing to the people through him. In the middle of complaining and whining He makes some bold statements. Check this out….

11 But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior;

    so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail.

They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced;

    their dishonor will never be forgotten.

12 Lord Almighty, you who examine the righteous

    and probe the heart and mind,

let me see your vengeance on them,

    for to you I have committed my cause.

13 Sing to the Lord!

    Give praise to the Lord!

He rescues the life of the needy

    from the hands of the wicked. (Jeremiah 20:11-13 NIV)

I simply don’t want to be a “whiner or chronic complainer”. I want to be positive and upbeat as often as possible. I realize that when things are hard, it’s difficult to keep my head up and be positive. It takes work, but I can push through difficulties without becoming a whiner. If I’m complaining to the Lord, He is the One Person Who can actually change the situation.

I want to be a solution seeker and a problem solver instead of a whiner and complainer. The Lord has promised me eternal life. I am aware that this life is temporary, but I would like it to be good. I will keep my eye on the eternal picture and not be beaten down or too discouraged by the events of this life here. I want to encourage and inspire others to also have a positive outlook. Whining and complaining is really easy. It takes effort to be persistently positive!

Pressing On!
