Clear Distinction

There are times when the right thing is not as clear to me as at other times. When that happens, it takes me a bit more time to discern the course of action that is best. In many other circumstances, the right is crystal clear and easy to make.   I have learned to seek the Lord’s counsel when I’m unsure of the right course of action. His Spirit that lives in me speaks into my heart and directs my heart.

The people of Israel had once walked with God. They had followed His commands. They had worshipped Him in the Temple. They had honored Him with their worship. The fell away and started following pagan practices and the Lord was frustrated and furious with them. He sends a warning to them via the prophet Ezekiel. Check this out….

26 Your priests have violated my instructions and defiled my holy things. They make no distinction between what is holy and what is not. And they do not teach my people the difference between what is ceremonially clean and unclean. They disregard my Sabbath days so that I am dishonored among them.

30 “I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one. (Ezekiel 22:26,30 NLT)

There is a clear distinction between good and evil.

There is a clear distinction between right and wrong.

I face choices all day – every day regarding the right thing to do. I am still growing in my relationship with the Lord. He speaks into my heart. He directs my path. He guides my steps. He gives me wisdom. He gives me insight. He gives me clarity.  I heard a great quote that still resonates within my heart: “When your values are clear, your decisions are easy.”

The Lord’s Presence in me helps me make a clear distinction between right and wrong. I want to listen carefully when He prompts my heart.

Pressing On!
