Celebrate Frequently

I love celebrations. I love the optimism and excitement when there is good news about a special event or a special victory. There is an energy at a celebration that just pulls me into it. I can only imagine some of the victory celebrations that I’ve witnessed via television – like a World Series victory or NASCAR championship – to name a couple. I’ve heard from some of the champions that there is a “now what” moment somewhere during or shortly after the celebration. I think we are wise to keep our eyes on the big picture of life even while celebrate big wins along the way.  The Psalmist reminded me to celebrate often what God has done and what He is doing and what He’s going to do soon. Check this out….

Sing a new song to the Lord,
    for he has done wonderful deeds.
His right hand has won a mighty victory;
    his holy arm has shown his saving power!

Shout to the Lord, all the earth;
    break out in praise and sing for joy!
Sing your praise to the Lord with the harp,
    with the harp and melodious song,
with trumpets and the sound of the ram’s horn.
    Make a joyful symphony before the Lord, the King!

Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!
    Let the earth and all living things join in.
Let the rivers clap their hands in glee!
    Let the hills sing out their songs of joy
before the Lord,
    for he is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with justice,
    and the nations with fairness.(Psalm 98:1,4-9 NLT)

The Lord is ALWAYS active in our world. There are times He’s working behind the scenes and there are times He’s working in the spotlight. He is ALWAYS Present. He is ALWAYS Prepared. He is NEVER surprised. He LOVES to hear His kids sing praises and celebrate Him. There are a lot of “moving parts” to our worship. There is heart change that happens when I recognized that I desperately NEED Him. There is heart change when I witness others surrendering to Him. There is proper perspective when I see His hand at work. It helps me to look back at all that He has done in my life and in the lives of others. It helps me to celebrate a victory from the Lord on behalf of others. My heavy heart can become lighter when I celebrate the Lord’s Presence in my heart.  I realize that “the Calvary” is here. He never leaves me behind.  I will sing. I will praise. I will dance. I will celebrate. God is Who He says He is. He will do what He says He will do. He is absolutely worthy of celebrating all day – every day!

Pressing On!
