Bold & Powerful

These two words are sometimes connected to people in high positions of government. When leaders get to the highest level of leadership in a given field, they sometimes forget the journey that got them where they are. It’s helpful to often reflect on the journey because it gives me perspective on where I am today.  I believe that most wealthy people remember what it’s like to be broke because that was part of their journey to wealth. Reflecting on my past journey is helpful in so many facets of my life.

When I reflect on my journey with the Lord, I gain insight and perspective to my life with Him in the present. Am I still growing? Am I still seeking? Am I still praying big prayers? I read the story of Saul’s conversion to following Jesus. It is so powerful. God wanted him. God got Saul’s attention. He was NEVER the same after meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus. Check this out…

22 Saul’s preaching became more and more powerful, and the Jews in Damascus couldn’t refute his proofs that Jesus was indeed the Messiah.

26 When Saul arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to meet with the believers, but they were all afraid of him. They did not believe he had truly become a believer! 27 Then Barnabas brought him to the apostles and told them how Saul had seen the Lord on the way to Damascus and how the Lord had spoken to Saul. He also told them that Saul had preached boldly in the name of Jesus in Damascus. (Acts 9:22, 26-27 NLT)

I want to lean into my personal experiences with Jesus as I live out my life today. I want others to hear my bold and powerful testimony of the change that God has brought about in me. I don’t necessarily need words; my actions speak way louder.

Our church is singing a song called: “The Story I’ll Tell” (written by Benji Cowart, Naomi Raines and Alton Eugene). The lyrics speak of a bold and beautiful testimony of God’s Power in a life lived for Him.

The hour is dark
And it’s hard to see
What You are doin’ here in the ruins
And where this will lead
Oh, but I know
That down through the years
I’ll look on this moment and see Your hand on it
And know You were here

And I’ll testify of the battles You’ve won
How You were my portion when there wasn’t enough, Provider
And I’ll sing the song of the seas That we crossed
The waters You parted, the waves that I’ve walked

Singing, oh-oh-oh, my God did not fail
Singing, oh-oh-oh, that’s the story I’ll tell, oh
Oh-oh-oh, I know it is well, yeah
Oh-oh-oh, it’s the story I’ll tell

Listen to the whole song here.

I want live a bold and powerful life today and everyday because of Christ in me!

Pressing On!

Dwayne
