Blessing From The Lord
I don’t think that a day goes by that I’m not reminded to be thankful for my children. I have five amazing kiddos (make that 7 including spouses) and I feel incredibly blessed by the Lord. I also think it’s important to have proper perspective – children are a gift from Him. I have the privilege of being Dad for a few years. Some of those years I have more influence than others. As they become adults, I see the influence from years before. Investing in my children through the years has been far and away a very valuable asset. Check this out…
3 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.(Psalm 127:3-5 NIV)
One of the greatest privileges I’ve known while being alive on this earth is being a Dad. There is no other role I’ve taken on that touches that one. I pray earnestly that my children experience the joy of children. I pray that the Lord opens doors for them to know this joy. My heart hurts for people who want children, but because of a physical complication they can’t have children. It’s crazy to see others having children just to increase their government subsidized income. Children are moldable, shapeable little humans in need of adult love and nurturing. God’s plan of family is really amazing. I believe His plan is for parents to love and nurture their children and invest their lives into them. As the parents get older and are in the sunset years, their children then love, nurture, and invest their lives back into their parents. I am so thankful for my parent’s investment in me. I want my children and their children and generations to come to know the Lord and run after Him!
Pressing On! Dwayne
