Awestruck

I remember going to one of my first worship events and being blown away by the power and presence of God in the room. I also remember the first time I felt that Lord speaking to me personally. There are many times when I’ve felt the Presence of God in a regular church service. Feeling the Presence of God is subjective and personal. Seeing God move in people’s lives can be mostly personal. Seeing God do big things for the world to see is hard to miss.

Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt and the Lord was setting up an opportunity for the people to see His Power and His Presence. He leads them to the edge of the Red Sea and the Egyptian army is in hot pursuit. The Lord instructs Moses to raise his staff and the water parted so that the Israelites could walk through on dry land. This was a big wow moment and God showed up to save His people. The response of the people was appropriate. Check this out….

29 But the people of Israel had walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, as the water stood up like a wall on both sides. 30 That is how the Lord rescued Israel from the hand of the Egyptians that day. And the Israelites saw the bodies of the Egyptians washed up on the seashore. 31 When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the Lord had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before him. They put their faith in the Lord and in his servant Moses.  (Exodus 14:29-31 NLT)

I’m learning that God can do anything He wants. He is in charge. He is leading. He is guiding. He is faithful. He is powerful. He is patient.  I’ve seen His Power is some “Red sea moments” and there are few words to express it.

I’m also learning to notice the Power and the Presence of God in so many little things throughout my day. He is always working behind the scenes in my life. When I take the time to notice Him, I’m filled with awe before Him.  It is totally appropriate to be in awe of God. I should live in a state of being awestruck by the Power and Presence of God in my everyday, normal life.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
