At That Moment

There have been powerful moments in my life. I remember talking to my parents as a young child about becoming a Christian. I lived off the faith of my parents and grandparents for many years. I clearly remember the moment when my faith became my own. I know where I was sitting and what I was doing. My life has been different ever since.

Along the way of life there have been moments that gave me a new perspective. When I became a husband, things were different. When I became a dad, it seemed everything in my life up to that point was somewhat insignificant compared to weight of being a parent in charge of a helpless little baby.  I could go on and on about special moments as life on this earth is a compilation of special moments.

When Jesus died on the cross, it was a special moment. The Son of God completed His mission to earth. There was much that happened at the moment of His death. Check this out….

50 Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit. 51 At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart, 52 and tombs opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead. 53 They left the cemetery after Jesus’ resurrection, went into the holy city of Jerusalem, and appeared to many people.

54 The Roman officer and the other soldiers at the crucifixion were terrified by the earthquake and all that had happened. They said, “This man truly was the Son of God!” (Matthew 27:50-54 NLT)

I have decided to maximize the moments I have on earth. There are moments with special people that I should work at being totally present in the moment. There is great power in special moments along the way of life. I’m still leaning into some of the most special moments of my life.  I don’t want to forget the impact or the power of those moments upon my journey.  I think that regular, ordinary days can be full of powerful moments. There have been times when in the moment, I didn’t realize the significance of it. God’s timing in moments is pristinely perfect. This moment right now is important to the whole of my life.

Pressing On!
