Appropriate
This word means that something is “suitable or proper in circumstances”. I’m getting close to wrapping up my journey through the Psalms. I came across this Psalm that seemed to say to me that praising and worshipping our God was appropriate. Check this out…
1 Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him! 2 The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel. 3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 4 He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. 5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. 6 The Lord sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground. 7 Sing to the Lord with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp. 8 He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills. 11 the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love. (Psalm 147:1-8;11 NIV)
When I reflect on all that Lord has done and is doing around me in my life, I can’t help but think it appropriate to praise Him. He has done more for me than I can even begin to count. He is not only Creator of all that I see and know – He is also the Sustainer – He keeps it going.
He created me.
He provides for me.
He protects me.
He heals my hurt.
He supplies my needs.
He sustains my hope.
He delights in me!
It is totally appropriate that I begin today thanking Him and praising Him for Who He is and What He has done and is doing in my life. He loves it when I worship Him!
I was just introduced to this song this morning – check out Forever by Kari Jobe. This totally blessed my heart! Wow!
