All I Need
I have lots of wants. I have lots of needs. As a grown-up I have to be discerning between the two. I sometimes turn my “wants” into “needs” to that I can justify them. When my kids had wants, I had to make the call when they were actually wants versus needs.
As I read this most famous of David’s psalms, I remember that the Lord has my needs covered. I can simply rest and soak in the words of this Psalm. I’m encouraged. I’m inspired. I have protection. I’ve been soaking in verse 1 in this version for the past couple of weeks. Check this out….
1 The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
3 He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
4 Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
5 You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever. (Psalm 23:1-6 NLT)
The Lord’s Presence is such a game-changer.
His Presence is with me through whatever I face.
He Provides for my needs and sometimes my wants.
He is Present His Word.
He is Present in my journey.
Pressing On!
