I’ve seen people show up and do nothing other than show up. I’ve also seen people show up and jump in to do whatever needs to be done to help. This happens at churches everywhere. There are people who started going to church, speak to others and that’s it. Then there are those who show up and attend church and then volunteer to help wherever in order for others to have a positive experience at church. We are never more like God than when we give. We give to the church and we give to others. I believe giving welcomes the very presence of God. When the Lord is present, there is no reason to fear.
When the Lord is present, there is no need to run.
When the Lord is present, there is no need to hide.
When the Lord is present, He brings peace with Him.
Isaiah is speaking for the Lord to his people and the Lord’s promises His Presence. Check this out….
10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
13 For I hold you by your right hand—
I, the Lord your God.
And I say to you,
‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you. (Isaiah 41:10,13 NLT)
I feel like the Presence of God is with me like no other time when I’m in His Word to begin my day. I’m pretty sure that I recognize the Presence of God just about every day of my life. He has changed every area of my life. In fact, He is still changing me. This passage from Isaiah is very familiar to me. I’ve held on to this as I walk with others through the valley of the shadow of death. I’ve held this promise as I walk with others through financial ruin. I’ve declared this promise to myself as I navigate “uncharted territory” in suffering and struggle. I think every struggle is unique, but similar to other struggles. No matter what I face as my journey here on earth continues, I want the Presence of God to hold me up and help me. It’s His Promise and I’m leaning into that today!
Pressing On!
