A Song Of Praise
I love to sing. I really like singing songs of praise. When I sing songs of praise my heart is taken to a really good place. In that place of praise, I’m reminded that I did nothing to deserve being saved, but God did. He rescued me. He poured His Spirit in my soul and I’m forever different. I love this song of praise that Isaiah pours out to the Lord. Check this out…
1 Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago. 4 You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. 8 he will swallow up death for ever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken. 9 In that day they will say, ‘Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.’ (Isaiah 25:1,4,8,9 NIV)
A good song takes me on a journey outside myself. Some songs on the radio sound like my life, when things go wrong or right. A song of praise lifts my spirit into a place of gratitude and blessing. In a song of praise, I’m reminded of how big God is and how small I am. I also think a song of praise expresses things in ways that words can’t necessarily touch. I love this song by Third Day call “Sing A Song”.
