A Random Song
I love songs.
I love singing and playing songs that honor the Lord. Songs that resonate with me are often just under my breath as I walk through my day. I think songs of praise that honor the Lord make Him smile.
I used to love the song called, “Sing A Song”by Third Day.
I want to sing a song for You, Lord
Lord, for You I want to sing a song
And I want to lift my voice to Heaven
And listen to the angels sing along
I want to live my life for You, Lord
Lord, for You I want to live my life
I want to praise the name of Jesus
Pray above all things You’re glorified
A song of Your faithfulness
A song of Your grace
And of Your loving kindness
To the glory of your name
With everything that’s in me
Listen to me say
I want to sing a song for You
I want to sing a song
The people of Israel and Judah were held in captivity and the Lord was about to free them and punish Babylon. Jeremiah breaks out into what appears to be random song of praise. Check this out…..
15 The Lord made the earth by his power,
and he preserves it by his wisdom.
With his own understanding
he stretched out the heavens.
16 When he speaks in the thunder,
the heavens roar with rain.
He causes the clouds to rise over the earth.
He sends the lightning with the rain
and releases the wind from his storehouses.
17 The whole human race is foolish and has no knowledge!
The craftsmen are disgraced by the idols they make,
for their carefully shaped works are a fraud.
These idols have no breath or power.
18 Idols are worthless; they are ridiculous lies!
On the day of reckoning they will all be destroyed.
19 But the God of Israelis no idol!
He is the Creator of everything that exists,
including his people, his own special possession.
The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name! (Jeremiah 51:15-19 NLT)
My faith is deeper than a song, but a good song can inspire my faith to go deeper. Music can say things in an inspirational way that mere words can’t accomplish.
