Word From God
I think that the Word of God (aka The Bible) is God speaking. His written Word is powerful and can move my heart and motivate me to action.
“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”
I believe that Truth is contained in the Word of God. I love it when He speaks into my heart and life from a passage of scripture. As I’m reading the Proverbs written by King Solomon in the Word a passage on this subject jumps in my lap. Check this out…
18 Where there is no word from God, people are uncontrolled, but those who obey what they have been taught are happy. (Proverbs 29:18 NCV)I believe that the most powerful way God speaks is through His Holy Spirit. Through the Holy Spirit, God speaks directly into my heart, my life and my situation. He can prompt me to do something or refrain from doing something. He can assist my speaking ability – even give me the words to speak. He imparts wisdom freely through His Spirit.
I believe that the word from God that Solomon is speaking of is a combination of God speaking through His Word and speaking through the powerful Spirit of God. They often fit together like a hand in a glove. I believe that my time in His Word is connecting me with the Heart of God and the Spirit of God. I need a word from the Lord every single day of my life!
