Giving Reveals My Heart
I grew up watching my parents give to the church. I didn’t always know how much they gave, but I saw them give. They were also givers with their time and talents as well. I’m thankful for their example as it inspired and motivated me. I believe giving reveals my heart. If I’m giving to others or if I’m giving to the church, it is a reflection of my inner soul.
The people of Israel were reminded by Moses about giving prior to entering into the land promised to them by God. He was telling them about the blessings and wealth that was coming from the land. Check this out….
22 “You must set aside a tithe of your crops—one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year. 23 Bring this tithe to the designated place of worship—the place the Lord your God chooses for his name to be honored—and eat it there in his presence. This applies to your tithes of grain, new wine, olive oil, and the firstborn males of your flocks and herds. Doing this will teach you always to fear the Lord your God. (Deuteronomy 14:22-23 NLT)
I don’t give to get. I give because of my faith.
I don’t give to boast. I give to make the Lord known.
I will continue to pray for the favor of God on me, my family and my business. I will continue to cultivate a generous heart before The Lord. Generosity reveals my soul and is a reflection of what I believe about God.
Pressing On!
