Peace To Me
I like peace. I enjoy a peaceful evening. I enjoy a peaceful day beside the lake or stream. There is something about being near water that is relaxing and restorative. I also enjoy the mountains. I spent a few years living in East Tennessee and just to see the mountains in the distance reminded me of the Presence and Power of God. My soul relaxes a lot, knowing that He is in control. In other words, I feel Peace when I recognize the Presence of God near me and in me. I came across this beautiful Psalm from the descendants of Korah. Check this out…
8 I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying,
for he speaks peace to his faithful people.
But let them not return to their foolish ways.
9 Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him,
so our land will be filled with his glory.
10 Unfailing love and truth have met together.
Righteousness and peace have kissed!
11 Truth springs up from the earth,
and righteousness smiles down from heaven.
12 Yes, the Lord pours down his blessings.
Our land will yield its bountiful harvest.
13 Righteousness goes as a herald before him,
preparing the way for his steps.(Psalm 85:8-13 NLT)
The Lord wired me for Peace.
The Lord wired me to trust in Him.
The Lord wired me to rest in Him.
The Lord wired me to look to Him.
The Lord wired me to be truthful.
The Lord wired me to respect Him.
The Lord wired me for a righteous life.
When I start trying to “take the reins” of my life, I feel anxious and stressed. When I see His Counsel and His Presence to direct my steps, I feel peace. He goes before me. He stands behind me. He walks with me – inside me. I want to do what He leads me to do. I want to go where He leads me to go. I want the peace that settles my soul in the midst of a scary storm – He’s the ONLY ONE with that Power from His Presence.
Pressing On!
