By My Side
I love the picture of having someone to help that comes along side me to help me. I believe that in marriage, spouses are to help one another along the journey of life. I like the picture about coming along side the Lord to do what it is He’s called me to do. King David speaks to this in Psalm 110. Check this out…
1 The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit by me at my right side until I put your enemies under your control.” 2 The Lord will enlarge your kingdom beyond Jerusalem, and you will rule over your enemies. 3 Your people will join you on your day of battle. You have been dressed in holiness from birth; you have the freshness of a child. 4 The Lord has made a promise and will not change his mind. He said, “You are a priest forever, a priest like Melchizedek.” (Psalm 110:1-4 NCV)Of all the people I want to come along side to help me, I want the Lord. He is the most powerful of allies. He has a plan. He has the power to implement the plan. He can make more of my life than I could ever dream. I believe it’s my role to come along side Him and go with His plan. I sometimes try to go my own way and invite Him in to my plans. That is exactly opposite as to how it should work. He will lead if I let Him. I must trust Him with today, tomorrow and the rest of my life here on earth.
When I’m in His will and He and I are side by side, there’s not better place on earth to be!
Pressing On! Dwayne
