Steady
That terms speaks to me about consistency and level-headedness. It is defined as: firmly fixed, supported, or balanced; not shaking or moving sensible, reliable, and self-restrained; regular, even, and continuous in development, frequency, or intensity. It certainly describes God to me. He represents that word in so many ways. As I search His Word, I see His steady hand is all things. Check out what David says about Him…..
1 God, my heart is steady. I will sing and praise you with all my being. 2 Wake up, harp and lyre! I will wake up the dawn. 3 Lord, I will praise you among the nations; I will sing songs of praise about you to all the nations. 4 Your great love reaches to the skies, your truth to the heavens. 5 God, you are supreme above the skies. Let your glory be over all the earth. (Psalm 108:1-5 NCV)I want to have a steady heart focused on being who He calls me to be. I want to run from the sin that so easily trips me up and see His face. His love knows no boundaries. His glory is everywhere and in everything. He is the personification of the word steady. I want to be just like Him, not like I normally live – unsteady, sinful, self serving and selfish. I want my heart to be steady in pursuit of His heart!
