Spirit World
I actually believe in the “Spirit World” a dimension beyond my ability to see or hear. I believe in angels and demons. I believe that the angels are part of the invisible forces from God’s Presence. I believe the demons are the invisible forces of the enemy Satan. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to have the ability to see the unseen. How many signals would be racing through the space around me. There are antenna signals with television waves, radio waves, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and noise frequencies that my ear can’t pick up. Just because I can’t see them or hear them doesn’t make them less real.
I read about an event that John saw in his Revelation about a war in heaven – a war in the Spirit world that I believe is still raging on. Check this out….
7 Then there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his angels. 8 And the dragon lost the battle, and he and his angels were forced out of heaven. 9 This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels. (Revelation 12:7-9 NLT)
I read a great novel by Frank Perettiyears ago call This Present Darkness. Frank personified the angels and demons. That book had some embellishment for sure, but it had a lot of truth. My prayer life was forever different after reading that novel. My prayer life calls upon the power of God and He can use His heavenly forces to shut the enemy down. It brings to mind the verse in 1 John. Check this out….
4 But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. (1 John 4:4 NLT)
I don’t have to worry about the Spirit World, because the Lord is in charge. He has already won the war in the Spirit world, and His Spirit is in me to face each battle that He also helps me to win. My role is to lean on Him, call on Him and let Him fight on my behalf the unseen enemy and even the evil that is visible before me. I need His help to walk in purity and holiness each day. I need His help to say the right things make the right choices and decisions. There is no need to walk in fear, but to walk in faith trusting His Presence in me. I sometimes feel like the war in heaven is being waged inside my heart. There is a fight for my heart and I simply need to surrender my heart for the Lord to actually win.
