Depend

This word jumps out to me as an attribute of God. It means, to rely upon or be controlled or determined by someone or something.  As I read scripture, I’m reminded that this is fundamental to my journey with the Lord. I must learn to depend more on Him or guidance and provision. He is faithful and consistent and will not let me down. He is the Leader of leaders.  The Psalmist reminded me to depend on Him.  1 Give thanks to the Lord and pray to him.

       Tell the nations what he has done.

 2 Sing to him; sing praises to him.

       Tell about all his miracles.

 3 Be glad that you are his;

       let those who seek the Lord be happy.

 4 Depend on the Lord and his strength;

       always go to him for help.

 5 Remember the miracles he has done;

       remember his wonders and his decisions. (Psalm 105:1-5 NCV)

The word Depend and Deep End are different because of the one letter “e”.  If  I want grow deeper in my faith, I must depend upon God.

Our country celebrates our independence every year on July 4. As a believer, I should celebrate my dependence each and every day of my life – not just once each year.

I can count on God to do what He says He will do. He will not leave me or forsake me. He will not let me down. He is strong. He is consistent. He is faithful. He is creative. He is dependable!
