Humble Trust
The minute that I feel like I’ve arrived when it comes to humility, pride has just entered and spoiled the arrival. Humility, in my view, is a never-ending quest to seek and serve others. I believe that the Lord is a HUGE resource for everyone who seeks to be humble. Jesus, the Son of Creator God, was the ultimate example of humility. He could have circumvented the process of His trial, His suffering and His death. He chose to be obedient and stick with the Fathers plan. He helped created the hill, He was crucified upon. He helped create His own accusers. He walked this earth with ALL POWER and ALL AUTHORITY yet chose to humbly serve others and invest in others.
Peter speaks to Christ followers about the significance of humble trust in the Lord. I felt encouraged to give all my worries to the Lord. Check this out…
6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.(1 Peter 5:8-9 NLT)
I believe in God’s Power in my life. I’ve seen His hand work in some crazy situations. I am learning to release my grip on things that don’t matter. He has my life in His hand – my role is humble trust in the One Who made me and dwells inside my heart.
I do have an enemy and he wants to steal, kill and destroy everything I am and everything I know, as well as everything I love. I am committed to humbly trusting in God to protect me and empower me to be strong in the face of temptation and struggle. I believe that the Lord teaches me things in the midst of temptation, struggle and suffering that I can’t possibly learn over on “Easy Street”. Suffering, struggle and temptation are definitely NOT fun places to be, but the lessons learned there are eternal. I want to value what the Lord values and that is His people. He created me to worship and love Him. He created me to love others because He loved us all first. He wants me to love like He loves. He wants me to walk humbly before God and trust Him. This humble trust provides me incredible strength in the midst of the toughest trial and struggle. I’m holding on to His hand as I walk through this life into eternity.
Pressing On!
