The Favor of God
I often find myself asking for the favor of God upon my family. My blessings are really too many to count. I do like to hit the highlights pretty often and thank the Lord for my wife and children. As their families expand, my heart of love expands too. I’ve asked the Lord’s favor on my place of business. I work with an amazing team of REALTORS at Metro West Realty and I feel blessed by their friendship as well as their professionalism. I think it is totally appropriate to ask for Gods favor on any area of my life and at any time in my life. He loves to bless me because I’m His kid. I love this passage in Leviticus where He tells His people that if you will obey and live within the boundaries, He will pour out His favor on them. Check this out….
9 ‘“I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. 10 You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new. 11 I will put my dwelling-place among you, and I will not abhor you. 12 I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people. 13 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads held high. (Leviticus 26:9-13 NIV)
I love the fact that the favor of God is even closer than before. When Jesus came to this earth, the Lord made His dwelling inside the hearts of His people. The Lord no longer dwells in just one place, like the tabernacle, temple or even a church building. My heart becomes His dwelling place. I’m thankful for His Presence and I’m thankful for His favor on my life. I try to never take His favor for granted. I want to constantly be aware of His Presence and His Council in my life. I want to represent Him well in my personal life and certainly in my business life as well. I want the Lord’s favor on my life no matter what stage of life I’m in – how old or how young. When I leave this life and enter eternity, I want the transition to be smooth as can be. I believe the key to that smooth transition is the Lord dwelling in my heart and directing the activities of my life. I want to live and work with confidence that the Lord is directing me and pouring out His favor upon me!
