Vivid Vision
I remember as a kid hearing two main stories from the book of Daniel – the story of “the lions den” and “the fiery furnace”. I wasn’t aware of all the visions he had. I’ve had dreams and I’ve had visions, but nothing quite like what Daniel experienced. I’m thankful that he has written them down. Check this out…
9 ‘As I looked,
‘thrones were set in place,
and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow;
the hair of his head was white like wool.
His throne was flaming with fire,
and its wheels were all ablaze.
10 A river of fire was flowing,
coming out from before him.
Thousands upon thousands attended him;
ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him.
The court was seated,
and the books were opened.
13 ‘In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshipped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. (Daniel 7:9-10;13-14 NIV)
I’m blown away by the vivid descriptions of this vision. I realize that even though I haven’t seen the Lord, I do believe His Presence, when I see Him, will be awe-inspiring. I believe that all that has been written about the Lord and descriptions of Him will pale in comparison to His Presence. I expect to be speechless.
I write this simple blog almost every morning because it helps give me clarification to what I read in The Word. I don’t always understand what I’ve read, but I always understand more of Who God is. I want to see the Lord. I want to see Him face to face. (I’m assuming that He has a face and other physical attributes like me.) I want the Presence of God – His majesty, His gentleness…I want Him to dwell inside of me!
Pressing On!
