Head Rest
I used to think that the head rest on my car or truck was for me to lean my head back while driving. It is actually a safety measure to protect me in a crash. The headrest keeps my neck from being snapped back at impact of a crash. I still push my head back against every now and then. I came across a passage in Psalms that I really needed to hear this morning. Check this out….
5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. 6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I shall not be shaken. 7 My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. 8 Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. (Psalm 62:5-8 NIV)
There are times when I do something stupid, I’m thankful for the headrest as well as the “heart-rest”. The Lord provides rest for my head and my heart. I don’t always protect my heart or my head, but that doesn’t stop Him. I’m so grateful for His Grace & Mercy. He knows me and loves me still. I am blessed to know of His unfailing love. He does not give up on me. He is worthy of my trust – ALWAYS. Even when I wander off, He welcomes me back. I love that I can find rest and redemption in Him.
